Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arnaud Rio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Keith Channell!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Channell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rio drops his hands momentarily and Channell takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Arnaud Rio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rio misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Channell counters with a leg kick.
Rio with a lazy takedown attempt
and Channell counters with a good low kick that Rio was not able to check.
A solid leg kick lands there for Channell.
Rio shoots in looking for a takedown. Channell tries to sprawl out of it but Rio keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Channell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rio misses with a jab to the body
and Channell counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Rio is lucky that one didn't land flush.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rio fails with the takedown
and Channell counters with a low kick, right behind Rio 's knee.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Arnaud Rio. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rio is breathing heavily.
Oooooh!!! Channell has knocked Rio down with a huge combo! Channell steps away and waves a wobbly Rio back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Arnaud Rio has been cut.
and Channell counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Rio! He's just covering up as Channell starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Keith Channell!
