Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francis Begbie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fig Roll (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francis Begbie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fig Roll!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Begbie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Begbie working the head and body with strikes.
Roll on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Begbie is keen to just control but Roll is a slippery customer.
Roll moves into full guard.
Begbie throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Roll is trying to keep Begbie in close.
Begbie looking to pass the guard.
Begbie trying to control but Roll is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Begbie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Begbie showed some decent athleticism there.
Begbie working over Roll with some ground and pound. Roll looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Roll trying to control from the bottom.
Begbie is nestled in close to Roll, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Roll is looking to escape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Begbie landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Roll wants to get back to his feet.
Begbie trying to mount his opponent but Roll defends it.
Begbie not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Roll actively working from the bottom here.
Roll is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Begbie scores with a couple of nice shots.

Begbie escapes and gets back to his feet.

Begbie scores with a takedown into Roll's guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Roll is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Roll looks gassed!
Begbie distracts Roll with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Begbie decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Begbie walks into a jab.

Begbie drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Roll manages to get back to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Roll gets back to full guard.
Begbie lands a couple of digs.
Begbie postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Begbie has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Begbie advances to half guard.
Roll taking some punishment here, with Begbie in his half guard.
Well, if Begbie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Roll is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Begbie pulls his head out easily.
Ground and pound from Begbie.
Begbie stops Roll from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Roll manages to get to full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roll is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roll is looking to stand up but Begbie won't let him.
Roll is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Begbie trying to keep a closed guard but Roll is proving a slippery customer.
Rollis looking to pass into half guard but Begbie pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Begbie is in guard.
Begbie works over Roll with some ground and pound from guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Begbie scores with a takedown into Roll's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Begbie is looking to stand up but Roll won't let him.
Begbie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Begbie content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.


Roll is rocked!
Roll is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Begbie trying to control the position from guard on top but Roll is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Begbie cracks Roll with a solid left hand.
Roll is still in real trouble! Can Begbie finish him?
Roll keeping moving, preventing Begbie from controlling successfully.
Roll seems to have recovered his senses.
Begbie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Begbie wants to pass the guard but Roll is keeping the position.
Begbie is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Begbie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Roll, up you get!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Begbie.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roll sneaks back into half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Begbie scoring with strikes to the body and head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!



Begbie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Begbie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Begbie lands a heavy elbow.
Begbie looking to finish Roll with some ground and pound. This is bad for Roll!
Begbie is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Roll goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Begbie!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Francis Begbie!
