Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Romulus Amular (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson has chosen Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting as his entrance music. Joe Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Romulus Amular!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Amular circles away.
Jackson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Amular connects with a solid leg kick.
Amular lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Amular scores with a head kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jackson on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Jackson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Amular is fending him off so far but Jackson persists. Nope, Amular circles away and we're back to standing.

Amular gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jackson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Amular wants to stand and escape but Jackson is having none of it.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Amular wants to stand up but Jackson is controlling him.
Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amular swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jackson throwing strikes but missing.
Jackson is pushing down on Amular's leg trying to pass to half guard. Amular is fighting to maintain full guard but Jackson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Jackson is looking for a kimura here.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura but Amular is defending well.
Amular wants to improve his position but Jackson is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jackson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Amular has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Amular wants to improve his position but Jackson is controlling well.
Amular makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Amular.

Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Amular has his feet on Jackson's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jackson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Amular.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jackson is defended easily by Amular.
Romulus Amular has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Jackson.
Jackson needs to keep his hands up - Amular had a free shot at his head there.

Amular scores with a jab.
Amular scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Amular throws a leg kick but Jackson moved away.
Amular throws a nice outside leg kick.
Amular dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Amular lands a nice shot to the body.
Amular's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jackson under the eye.
Jackson with a poor takedown
and Amular counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Amular throws a head kick that Jackson semi-blocks.
Jackson fails with a takedown attempt.
Amular feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jacksons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jackson misses with a takedown attempt - Amular sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Amular connects with a solid leg kick.
Amular is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Jackson feints and as Amular raises his hands in defense, Jackson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jackson looks gassed!

Jackson drops back looking for a leg! Amular is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Amular manages to kick Jackson off! Jackson jumps back into Amular's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Amular keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.

Amular pushes Jackson off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Good shot there by Amular.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romulus Amular dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Amular connects with the punch.
Jackson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Amular swivels and escapes.
A cross from Amular lands.
Jackson fails with a takedown attempt.
Amular displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jackson.
Romulus Amular has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Jackson.

Jackson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Amular is wriggling around trying to escape.

Jackson is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Amular is surviving well by controlling Jackson's body position as best he can.

Jackson moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Amular has worked his arm free - good work by Amular!
Amular tries to escape but Jackson is in control.

Jackson has hold of Amular's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Amular seems comfortable defending it but Jackson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Amular is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Amular is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jackson couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joe Jackson!
Joe Jackson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KAISER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
