PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Mr Ward has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Mr Ward seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sven Knight!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Ward steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Knight.
Ward scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Knight closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ward quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Knight is trying to control the action in half guard but Ward is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Knight thows a huge punch but Ward dodges it nicely.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Sven Knight wasn't active enough on the ground.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ward, right into the meat.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ward.
Ward cracks the inside of Knight's front leg.
Ward fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Knight.
Knight looks to throw the jab but Ward is out of range.

A telegraphed right hand from Knight misses the target.
Ward fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
That kick from Ward tenderised Knight's leg. Knight is trying to keep his angry face on.
Knight throws an off balance right hand
and Ward counters with a thumping low kick.
Knight's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward connects with a good right hand that stumbles Knight. Knight circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Ward keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Knight misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ward.
Knight misses with a hook to the body
and Ward counters with a leg kick.
Ward misses with a wild body shot.
Mr Ward is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ward thuds a left hand into Knight's body.
Ward throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Knight stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Ward counters with a good low kick that Knight was not able to check.
Knight stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ward.

Knight misses with an uppercut. Ward saw that one coming.
Knight takes one to the chin there.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knight is defended easily by Ward.
Ward looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A nice inside leg kick there by Ward. That's going to slow Knight down.
Knight chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Ward can pounce on him.
Ward lands with a straight right. Knight didn't see that one coming.
Knight takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Knight on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Ward. Ward obviously looking to wear him down.
Ward fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Knight has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Ward lands with a shot to the body.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ward stuns Knight with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Knight is breathing heavily.
Knight has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Ward.
Ward with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Knight is keeping his hands low and just asking to be knocked out. Ward Raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Knight is out cold, face down on the mat!
