The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cass is trying hard to land a takedown here. St Pierre sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
St Pierre swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
St Pierre swats away the attempt to clinch by Cass.
Cass slips a jab and a cross from St Pierre.
St Pierre fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
St Pierre throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and St Pierre counters with a left and a right that stings Cass.
St Pierre slaps away a takedown attempt from Cass, before circling back to the center of the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cass tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. St Pierre manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cass fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Patrick St Pierre has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeffrey Cass.
St Pierre fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Cass takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Cass stalks St Pierre and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into St Pierre's face. St Pierre staggers backwards, shaken.
Cass doesn't manage to clinch there - St Pierre circles away.

St Pierre throws a right and a left that Cass avoids nicely.
A decent looking cross lands there for Cass.

St Pierre bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Cass's head backwards.
Cass misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cass throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
St Pierre uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cass has time to react.

and Cass counters with a single leg into guard. St Pierre didn't expect that.
St Pierre is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cass keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of St Pierre's head.

Cass content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Cass is looking to work some ground and pound but St Pierre has wrist control.
St Pierre utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Cass distracts St Pierre with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

St Pierre knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cass on the ground.
Cass connects with a couple of short punches.
Cass sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed St Pierre's guard.

St Pierre avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cass.
Cass drops an elbow to the side of St Pierre's head.
Cass is looking to take a break and control but St Pierre is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Cass throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Cass takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
St Pierre on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if St Pierre tries to get out of the position.
Cass thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Cass is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. St Pierre doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cass.
St Pierre is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Cass scores with a couple of nice shots.

St Pierre is refusing to be controlled, as Cass sits in half guard.
Cass is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Cass is trying to work for a kimura but St Pierre is defending well.
Cass working over St Pierre with some ground and pound. St Pierre looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeffrey Cass dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cass tries to clinch up but St Pierre circles away and keeps his distance.
St Pierre lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cass circles away quickly and effectively.
Cass shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as St Pierre sprawls well. St Pierre wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cass gets slowly back to his feet.
A left and a right from Cass both land. Nice combination.


St Pierre is rocked!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Cass. St Pierre shrugs it off though.
Oh St Pierre is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Cass has closed the distance and engaged St Pierre in a clinch.

Cass manages to pull guard.

Cass pushes St Pierre off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
St Pierre circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Cass. St Pierre falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Cass!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jeffrey Cass!
A less than humble Jeffrey Cass misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
