The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Silva .
Silva gets caught flat footed, as McCartney shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Silva has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but McCartney can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and McCartney defends well.
Silva had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. McCartney defends it easily.

McCartney advances position into side control!
McCartney thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. McCartney manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed McCartney's guard.

Silva is looking for a kimura but McCartney is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Silva to get the leverage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McCartney is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

McCartney tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Silva is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! McCartney is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! McCartney has escaped and now he's on top!
Silva throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McCartney escapes and throws Silva 's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That was a close second round but I would say that Vitor Silva will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
McCartney closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McCartney lands in his opponent's guard.
McCartney got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCartney has managed to get both his arms back between Silva 's legs - danger averted.

Well McCartney has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
