Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Valera Kamenskiy!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shak manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kamenskiy on his heels. He'll look to pass Kamenskiy's guard now, I'm sure.
Kamenskiy doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Shak is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Russel Shak has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Shak shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kamenskiy manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Shak wants to control from the top but Kamenskiy keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Russel Shak just wasn't active enough.

Shak closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kamenskiy to the mat! Kamenskiy manages to get full guard.

Shak seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Kamenskiy for as long as he can get away with.

and Kamenskiy counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shak bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Kamenskiy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Shak is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kamenskiy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Shak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Shak will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shak breaks from Kamenskiy's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Shak tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Shak is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kamenskiy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Shak gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Shak throws a lazy right hand but Kamenskiy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shak has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Kamenskiy.

It looks like Russel Shak has been cut.
Kamenskiy is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Shak pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Shak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamenskiy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Shak gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Shak takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Kamenskiy gets tackled into the cage by Shak. Shak maintains the clinch.

Kamenskiy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Shak drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Shak is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kamenskiy is trying to control the position but Shak postures up.
Shak controlling from the top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Shak stands up and waves to Kamenskiy to follow him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shak maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kamenskiy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Shak has cracked it and Kamenskiy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Shak!
