The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker shoots and misses

and Honda counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Parker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Honda defends it easily.

Honda is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Victor Yudi Honda has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Parker shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Honda defends it nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Honda throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Parker tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Honda is in Parker's guard.

Honda might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Parker kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Honda avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Parker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Honda decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Parker, up you get!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Parker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Honda's guard.
