The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hall closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Souza moves in looking to clinch but Hall pushes him off.

Souza doesn't manage to clinch there - Hall circles away.
Hall shoots in for a takedown but Souza shows good takedown defense.

Souza lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Hall is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Souza off. It looks like it's working - Souza slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Hall displaying calm under pressure there.

Souza is in a horrible position here. Hall smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Hall lands a big shot there that rocks Souza but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Hall closes the distance and clinches up with Souza, looking for a takedown. Hall pushes Souza against the cage but Souza circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Souza working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Hall lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souza can't do much from the bottom here.
Hall cracks Souza with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Hall has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hall lands a few punches from side control.

Hall goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Souza rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hall's guard! Nice work there by Souza!
Hall wants to sweep here but Souza controlling him for the moment.

Souza is fighting to break Hall's control of his arms but Hall is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hall has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Hall shoots for a takedown but Souza saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Hall is working Souza over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hall is pushing down on Souza's leg trying to pass to half guard. Souza is fighting to maintain full guard but Hall has managed to sneak the leg through.

Souza has left one of his arms exposed and Hall doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Souza screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
