The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues moves into the clinch.
Rodrigues just leaning against Machida, taking a breather.
Rodrigues lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Rodrigues will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Machida up against the cage.
Rodrigues escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rodrigues thuds a left hand into Machida's body.
Rodrigues fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Machida looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rodrigues will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Machida misses with a takedown attempt
and Rodrigues counters with a two punch combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rodrigues clinches.
Rodrigues lands with a short shot to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodrigues gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Rodrigues is looking to work some ground and pound but Machida has wrist control.
Rodrigues sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Machida's guard.
Rodrigues is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rodrigues seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Machida is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
