The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noguerio doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pontes counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Pontes counters with a series of strikes that sends Noguerio to the canvas! Pontes follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight!

Pontes tries to move to mount but Noguerio blocks the move with his legs.
Pontes has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pontes creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
