Jones is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Rocky Jones could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tony Chopper's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rocky Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Chopper!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jones is breathing heavily.
Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Chopper.
Chopper moves out of range of the strikes.
Jones avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Jones moves out of range of the leg kick from Chopper.
Jones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Chopper.

Chopper closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.
Chopper controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Chopper landing some decent shots from guard.
Chopper distracts Jones with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Chopper stands and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones is letting Chopper control him for a moment.
Chopper fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones is not content to let Chopper control the position.
Chopper scores with punches from side control.
Chopper tries to score with some ground and pound. Jones controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Chopper has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Chopper lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Jones down.
Chopper looks up at the clock and then as Jones takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chopper smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chopper creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.


Jones is rocked!
A big shot lands for Chopper! That's hurt Jones! Will he recover? Chopper fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tony Chopper!
