Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ray Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike McKinley!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKinley moves out of range of the strikes.
Charles changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Charles missing with a left hand there. McKinley was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Charles has closed the distance and engaged McKinley in a clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Charles fails to land.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Charles.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Charles misses with the head strike.
McKinley blocks an uppercut.

McKinley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ray Charles seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charles takes a swing at McKinley's ribcage but misses.
The fighters circling - Charles throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

McKinley pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

McKinley buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

McKinley swats away the attempt to clinch by Charles.

Charles scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

McKinley escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
McKinley slips a jab from Charles.
McKinley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Charles. McKinley does a little dance to reset his feet.
A punch lands to the side of McKinley 's head but he takes it in his stride.
McKinley takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Charles scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. McKinley doesn't seem bothered though.

McKinley gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Charles to score an easy takedown into full guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Charles trying to control but McKinley is working from the bottom.

McKinley scrambles and gets back to his feet.
A jab from Charles finds it's way through McKinley's defenses.
McKinley ducks under a wild hook from Charles.

McKinley is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Charles on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Charles tries to clinch there but McKinley circles away.
Charles changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McKinley tries to avoid it but Charles manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McKinley to the ground. McKinley escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
McKinley pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Charles connects with a body shot.
Charles loads up on a big right hand but McKinley slips the punch.
McKinley closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Charles takes a swing at McKinley's ribcage but misses.
Charles cracks McKinley with an open hand slap.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles throws a hook to the side of McKinley's head but McKinley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Charles shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McKinley sprawls well. McKinley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Charles gets slowly back to his feet.

McKinley loads up on a big right hand but Charles slips the punch.
Charles lands a jab.
McKinley lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Charles at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McKinley swings and misses with a hook to the body.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
McKinley works the jab nicely.
McKinley thumps Charles with a low kick.
Charles tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and McKinley counters with a good, hard body kick but Charles shrugs it off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ray Charles will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!


McKinley takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Charles closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Charles works to advance to full mount. McKinley defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Ray Charles is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Charles looking to control but McKinley is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Charles seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down McKinley for as long as he can get away with.

McKinley is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ray Charles showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Charles has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
