Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bob Nweave!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tedd The Big!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nweave is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by The Big.

Nweave scores with a takedown into The Big's guard.
Nweave trying to control but The Big is working from the bottom.
Nweave tries to free his leg and advance position but The Big is retaining full guard.
The Big wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The Big manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Nweave is looking to improve his position but The Big isn't that keen on the idea.
The Big sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Nweave keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The Big avoids the attempt from Nweave to control.
Nweave might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The Big trying to control but Nweave is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The Big is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Nweave can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The Big looks gassed!

Nweave slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Nweave is trying to control but The Big manages to pass to mount!

The Big perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The Big is thwarting Nweave's attempts to control the position.
Nweave gets full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Nweave wriggles free and stands up.
The Big shoots and misses

so Nweave counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Nweave dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The Big will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The Big avoids the head kick by Nweave.
Nweave moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The Big misses with a takedown

and Nweave counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in The Big's guard now.
Nweave trying to control but The Big is working from the bottom.

The Big is looking for a triangle but Nweave pushes his legs off easily.
Nweave not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The Big keeping full guard, as Nweave tries to pass.

The Big has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nweave can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The Big is breathing heavily.
The Big is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Nweave trying to control the position from guard on top but The Big is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Nweave passes into half guard.
Nweave content to control rather than advance.
Nweave is trying to control the action in half guard but The Big is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nweave seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Nweave is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Nweave is working for a kimura but The Big is defending it quite comfortably.
Nweave prevents The Big from improving his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nweave working over The Big with some ground and pound. The Big looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The Big is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Nweave's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Nweave's back!
The Big trying to control momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bob Nweave dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Nweave shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says The Big as he avoids it easily.

and The Big counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The Big content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
The Big is looking to work some ground and pound but Nweave has wrist control.
The Big trying to control but Nweave is working from the bottom.
The Big working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Nweave pulls The Big in close to his closed guard and prevents The Big from doing any damage or advancing position.
The Big trying to control the position from guard on top but Nweave is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The Big takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The Big is stalling in the full guard.
Nweave is trying to keep The Big in close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The Big gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Tedd The Big seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nweave darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Nweave is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The Big is trying to maintain the position but Nweave is very close to passing his half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The Big wants to get back to full guard but Nweave has passed into side control.
The Big tries to buck Nweave off but he can't manage it.
The Big is working to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The Big is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The Big manages to regain half guard. Good work.
The Big is trying to maintain the position but Nweave is very close to passing his half guard.
The Big gets full guard.
Tedd The Big has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The Big working for a triangle but Nweave defends it easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tedd The Big comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Nweave has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
