Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Javier Springfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Butterball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Springfield clinches with his opponent.
Butterball has Springfield pressed against the cage.

Butterball successfully pulls guard.
Butterball has a closed guard, preventing Springfield from standing up.
Butterball tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Butterball throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Springfield working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Butterball looking for a guillotine here but Springfield defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Springfield is looking to take a break and control but Butterball is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Butterball on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Butterball is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Butterball's face as Springfield controls the position.
Butterball takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Springfield wants to stand but Butterball has his arm trapped.

Springfield is tying to control. Butterball wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Springfield seems to be working for a kimura but Butterball defends the submission attempt.
Butterball tries to roll over but Springfield keeps him under control.

Springfield is trying to control the action in half guard but Butterball is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Butterball rushes Springfield and presses him up against the cage.

Springfield is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Butterball gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Springfield pulls guard.
Springfield not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Butterball postures up in Springfield's guard and throws a big left but Springfield blocks it.
Butterball slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Springfield throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Butterball passes into half guard.
Butterball trying to control from half guard but Springfield is working away.
Butterball wants to pass to mount but Springfield is defending the position.

Springfield is trying to maintain the position but Butterball is very close to passing his half guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Butterball tries to pass the half guard into mount. Springfield knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Butterball is looking for a kimura but Springfield is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Butterball to get the leverage.
Butterball blocks the strikes from Springfield.
Butterball uses his free foot to push down on Springfield's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Springfield.

Butterball goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Springfield turns into him and now he's in Butterball's guard.
Butterball not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Butterball is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Butterball dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Butterball forces Springfield back against the cage and clinches.
Butterball drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Springfield gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Springfield breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Butterball has picked Springfield up - he's going for a ride! Butterball dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Springfield is refusing to be controlled, as Butterball sits in half guard.

Butterball seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Springfield is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
