Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between JJ Canas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devin Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Chris Saunders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Kane.
Canas misses with a takedown attempt - Kane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kane misses with a series of wild punches.
Canas fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Kane checks it well.
Canas misses with a double jab.
An inside leg kick from Canas misses.
Canas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Canas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Canas swings around for an armbar but Kane sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Canas's guard.

Canas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Kane is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Canas.
Canas is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kane is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Kane is looking to stand but Kane has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

Kane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Canas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Canas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kane tries to avoid it but Canas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kane to the ground. Kane escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Canas shoots for a takedown but Kane saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Kane enables Canas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kane manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Kane must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kane has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Canas is proving hard to escape from.

Canas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kane doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kane manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Canas isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Kane stacks Canas on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Kane!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
