The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Me shoots in looking for a takedown but Vermont manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Me's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Me throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Me.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Vermont parries the strikes from Me easily there. Me is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Vermont to escape.
Vermont is trying to get back to his feet.
Me throwing strikes but Vermont manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Vermont tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Vermont is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Me knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Vermont thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Vermont goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Me has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vermont but great work by Me.
Me is trying to ground and pound but Vermont uses the momentary lack of control by Me to regain half guard.
Me wants to free his trapped foot but Vermont is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Me stops Vermont from getting back to his feet.

Me throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Vermont to regain full guard.
Me throws a strike but Vermont rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Vermont has gone for a leg lock! Me slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vermont's guard.
Me working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vermont's head.
Vermont wants to get back to his feet but Me is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Vermont preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Me with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Vermont is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Me wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Me prevents the takedown attempt.

Vermont has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Me clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Me trying to get back to his feet but Vermont is in full control for now.
