Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Doctore Oenomaus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Ekim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doctore Oenomaus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Doctore Oenomaus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Ekim!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ekim thuds his shin into the meat of Oenomaus's side.
Oenomaus misses with a takedown attempt - Ekim sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Ekim misses with the combination.
Ekim scores with a nice right hand.
Ekim punishes Oenomaus's body with a nice straight punch.

Oenomaus fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ekim to the ground. Oenomaus is now in Ekim's guard.
Oenomaus trying to control the position from guard on top but Ekim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Oenomaus accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ekim being controlled here, momentarily.
Oenomaus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ekim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oenomaus trying to control the position from guard on top but Ekim is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Doctore Oenomaus.
Ekim throws a sloppy head kick and Oenomaus moves out of range easily.
Ekim scores with a head kick. Oenomaus tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Oenomaus clinches up with Ekim and pushes him back against the cage.

Oenomaus manages to break the clinch.
A right-left combo lands from Ekim.
Oenomaus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ekim swinging wildly here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Oenomaus sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Oenomaus is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ekim jabs Oenomaus to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Oenomaus gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ekim.
Ekim throws a right and a left that both miss.

Ekim lands a big head kick that sends Oenomaus tumbling to the mat! Ekim takes a step backwards and waves Oenomaus back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Oenomaus is rocked!
Ekim lands with a big right hook that stumbles Oenomaus - he's out on his feet here! Ekim follows up with another monster hook that separates Oenomaus from consciousness! Oenomaus falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Ekim stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Mike Ekim!
In his post fight interview, Mike Ekim started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
