Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shorey tries to close the distance and clinch but Ekim swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shorey misses with an attempted mid kick.

Shorey feints and as Ekim raises his hands in defense, Shorey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shorey is looking to stand up but Ekim won't let him.

Ekim wants to sweep here but Shorey controlling him for the moment.
Ekim pulls Shorey in close to prevent any damage.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Lance Shorey wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Shorey throws a right hand that Ekim ducks under and follows up with a left that Ekim also avoids with ease.
Shorey shoots in for a takedown but Ekim shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Ekim is trying to drag Shorey to the mat but Shorey just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Shorey has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ekim is trying to keep an underhook but Shorey manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Shorey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ekim keeps working.

Shorey decides to stand up, so the ref orders Ekim to his feet.
Shorey shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ekim sprawls well. Ekim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shorey gets slowly back to his feet.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ekim slaps away a takedown attempt from Shorey, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lance Shorey. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd cheers as Ekim lands an impressive looking overhand right. Shorey doesn't seem phased though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lance Shorey will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
A punch lands to the side of Shorey 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Shorey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ekim as he avoids it easily.
Ekim plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Shorey to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Shorey just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
