Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Riley Grimm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Drew Toth!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm keeps the fight on the outside.
Grimm dives in and grabs Toth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Toth pushes down on Grimm's head and hops out.
Toth fails with an attempt to clinch.
Toth throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grimm avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Grimm shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Toth pinned against the cage. Toth gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Toth doesn't manage to clinch there - Grimm circles away.
Riley Grimm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grimm keeps the fight on the outside.
Toth tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Grimm manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Grimm drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grimm postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Grimm scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Toth really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grimm. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Grimm sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Toth's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Toth is trying to control but can't.
Grimm throwing shots but Toth is blocking nicely.
Grimm lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Toth is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Grimm scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Grimm is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Grimm working over Toth with some ground and pound. Toth looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Toth looks gassed!
Grimm controlling the position here and throwing strikes from the top. Nice elbow lands there... and another... and another... oh, Toth is out! Grimm gets to his feet and admires his work - nice finish!
