Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shane Warne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Davies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Warne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Luke Davies!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Warne shoots in and bounces Davies off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Davies wants to sweep here but Warne controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Warne with a flurry of punches that miss.
Davies is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Warne loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Davies working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Warne.

Davies is trying to work for a sweep but Warne has mounted him!

Davies is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Warne is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Davies can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Warne has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Davies's face.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Warne landing punches.
Warne punishing his opponent with strikes.
Warne can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Davies is looking to escape.
Warne is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Davies is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Warne scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Davies?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Davies is working to get back to half guard.
Warne tries to control but Davies wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Warne dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Davies finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Davies is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Davies shoots in but Warne avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Davies gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Davies has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Warne after a bit of a struggle.
Warne is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Davies is keeping busy.
Warne fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Warne misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Warne is pressed up against the cage. Davies has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Warne down to the mat. Warne avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Shane Warne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Davies.

Davies really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Warne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Warne is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Davies stands up out of Warne's guard for a moment - Warne manages to land a nice upkick.
Warne is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Warne prevents Davies from standing back up.
Davies is looking to get back to full guard here but Warne has managed to pass to side control instead.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Davies takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Davies is trying to get back to half guard.

Davies takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Warne content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Warne misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Davies is looking to regain half guard here but Warne keeps moving and retains side control.
Davies takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Davies is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Davies manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Davies wants to take a breather but Warne is having none of it.
Warne gets back to full guard.
Warne lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Davies!

Warne takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Davies slips a straight right by Warne.
Davies ducks under a wild hook from Warne.
Davies throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Davies fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Warne avoids it really well and circles away.
Warne fails to land the takedown.
Davies avoids the head kick by Warne.
Davies fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Warne jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Davies throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Davies moves away from the strike by Warne.

Davies decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Warne is pressing down on Davies's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Warne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Davies can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Warne creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
You can see the frustration on Davies's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Davies tries to improve position but can't.
Davies can't do much from the bottom here.

Warne landing a few strikes.
Warne in side control, throwing shots but Davies defends.
Warne throws an elbow but Davies slips to the side and avoids it well.
Warne looks up at the clock and then as Davies takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Warne smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Davies is trying to get back to half guard.
Shane Warne is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Warne has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
