Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Joseph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes to the cage accompanied by Calvin Harris - Feel So Close (Nero Remix). Bryan Joseph has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bryan Joseph!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz circles away from the clinch attempt.
Joseph pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Diaz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Joseph tries to buck Diaz off but Diaz is having none of it.
Diaz remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Joseph leaves Diaz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Diaz counters with a single leg into guard. Joseph didn't expect that.
Joseph throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Diaz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Joseph has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Diaz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Joseph.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bryan Joseph.
Joseph tries to clinch there but Diaz circles away.

Diaz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Diaz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Joseph is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Diaz is trying to drag Joseph to the mat but Joseph just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

That was a close round but I would say that Dick Diaz will probably get the nod.

Diaz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Joseph is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Diaz is staying active.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bryan Joseph wasn't active enough on the ground.

Diaz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Joseph is wriggling around trying to escape.
Joseph tries to lock up and control but Diaz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Diaz looks for a takedown but Joseph sprawls well.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Joseph throws a sloppy head kick and Diaz moves out of range easily.

Diaz walks forward, straight into a front kick from Joseph.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt.
Diaz has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Joseph.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dick Diaz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Joseph is pressed up against the cage. Diaz has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Joseph down to the mat. Joseph avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Dick Diaz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Joseph is looking to regain half guard here but Diaz keeps moving and retains side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Dick Diaz.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
