Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Spat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Adam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jack Spat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jason Adam!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Viktor Lagutenko and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spat gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Spat lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Adam!
Adam is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Spat controlling the position easily from mount.
Spat lands a big shot there that rocks Adam but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Adam tries to hold on but Spat pushes him away.
Poor strikes thrown by Spat there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spat has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Spat looking to secure an arm triangle but Adam defends it well.

Spat is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Adam to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Adam shrugs it off.
Adam keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Spat is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Adam can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Spat takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Spat has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Spat.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Spat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spat fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Adam to the ground. Spat is now in Adam's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Spat will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Adam works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Adam misses with a wild combination.
Spat tries to score a power double leg takedown but Adam sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Spat somewhat.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Spat. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Adam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Spat sprawls well initially but Adam persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Adam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spat keeps working.

Spat pushes Adam off and gets back to his feet.

Adam drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jack Spat overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Adam throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Adam has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Spat feints and as Adam raises his hands in defense, Spat changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Adam is breathing heavily.
Adam wants to stand and escape but Spat is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Spat is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Adam is working an open guard so Spat takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Spat slips a jab and a cross from Adam.
Spat tries for a takedown but Adam sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Spat tries to clinch up but Adam circles away and keeps his distance.

Spat closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Spat seems to be looking for submissions.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Adam can do anything to dispel that myth.

Spat tries to pass to full mount but Adam defends it.

We're going to have a standup here because Jack Spat wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Spat has managed to clinch.

Adam pulls guard successfully.
Spat postures up in Adam's guard and throws a big left but Adam blocks it.

Spat's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jack Spat.
Spat looks for a takedown but Adam sprawls well.

Adam rushes Spat and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Spat's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Spat drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Adam gets tackled into the cage by Spat. Spat maintains the clinch.

Spat breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Spat scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Spat grinds an elbow into Adam's temple.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Adam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Spat swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
