Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Minotauro Nogeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ana Conda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nogeira comes to the cage accompanied by Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones. Conda has chosen Rooster as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogeira closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Nogeira lands in his opponent's guard.
Conda looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Conda is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Conda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nogeira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nogeira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nogeira has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Conda is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nogeira postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Conda is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nogeira, into his guard.
Conda tries to free his leg and advance position but Nogeira is retaining full guard.

Nogeira controls Conda momentarily but Conda frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Conda gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Conda tries for a takedown but Nogeira circles away easily
so Nogeira counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Nogeira avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Conda manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Nogeira is looking to improve his position but Conda isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conda wants to take Nogeira's back here but Nogeira is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Nogeira defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Conda.
Conda working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Nogeira turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Conda off and cradles Nogeira's limp body as Conda celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Ana Conda!
