PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nickolai Ketchum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winston McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ketchum's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Moskau. McCall is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Parkway Drive - Sleepwalker. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCall lands with a right hand.
Ketchum throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
McCall dodges the punch combination from Ketchum.

A jab-cross combination lands for McCall and sends Ketchum crashing to the mat! McCall follows him down to the mat - Ketchum regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Nickolai Ketchum has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McCall is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Ketchum still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Ketchum has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Ketchum is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute McCall jumps into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCall is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

McCall wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ketchum keeps working.
Ketchum knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCall on the ground.

McCall wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ketchum, who protects the arm well.
Ketchum is not content to let McCall control the position.

McCall tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McCall has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Ketchum is not content to let McCall control the position.
