Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rousimar Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Palhares takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Silva counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Palhares tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silva swivels and escapes.

Ricardo Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva tries to bum rush Palhares with a series of wild strikes but Palhares uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Palhares tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ricardo Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Palhares gets caught by a brutal right hook which buckles his knees! Palhares tries to backpedal with his spaghettilegs but Silva is headhunting and goes for the kill. A jab and a right hook connect and Palhares buckles badly as his eyes roll back. The referee steps in and saves Palhares!! Palhares is complaining but he was clearly out on his feet. Silva throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Mmmm spit-tastic.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricardo Silva!
