Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Joe Dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papabol Pol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Dirt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Papabol Pol!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dirt wants to clinch up but Pol keeps it at a distance.
Pol motions for Dirt to come forward. Pol throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Dirt throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Pol.
Pol throws a solid leg kick but Dirt takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Pol.
Joe Dirt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pol throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dirt avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Pol throws a series of punches but Dirt moves out of range.
Pol looks to score with a jab to the body but Dirt is just out of range.

Pol throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dirt stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Dirt counters with a straight right hand.

Papabol Pol is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Dirt tries for a takedown but Pol sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Pol misses with a few strikes there.
Pol throws a nice looking combination but Dirt bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Dirt throws a hook to the side of Pol's head but Pol sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fighters circle momentarily. Dirt darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Pol throws a series of strikes that have Dirt backpedaling.


It looks like Joe Dirt has been cut.
Dirt is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pol throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pol misses with a body kick.
Pol fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dirt manages to avoid it.
Pol moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Pol throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dirt moves in looking to clinch but Pol pushes him off.

Pol ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dirt feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Pol looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dirt is one step ahead there.

Dirt drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dirt jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pol can do anything to dispel that myth.
Pol seems keen to control Dirt's posture.
Pol's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Pol really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dirt. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dirt thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Pol is pulling down on Dirt's head. It's preventing any offense from Dirt, at least for the moment.

Dirt drops back looking for a leg! Pol is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pol manages to kick Dirt off! Dirt jumps back into Pol's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Papabol Pol hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dirt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dirt shoots in looking for a takedown. Pol tries to sprawl out of it but Dirt keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pol manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dirt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pol swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Joe Dirt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Pol throws a right and a left that Dirt avoids nicely.

Pol stalks Dirt and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dirt's face. Dirt staggers backwards, shaken.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pol tries to bum rush Dirt with a series of wild strikes but Dirt uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Pol is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Dirt rather than just go for the knockout.
Dirt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pol sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dirt somewhat.
Pol cracks Dirt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pol throws a low kick but Dirt moves out of range easily.

Papabol Pol showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Dirt closes the distance and clinches up with Pol, looking for a takedown. Dirt pushes Pol against the cage but Pol circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Pol lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Papabol Pol seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Oh Dirt is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Pol does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Pol walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

No joy there for Pol, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dirt is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Well Pol has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Papabol Pol was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
