PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Craven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah Connor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Connor has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Noah Connor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Wayne Craven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Noah Connor!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Craven fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Connor looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Craven misses with a few strikes there.
Craven jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Craven stalks Connor and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Connor's face. Connor staggers backwards, shaken.

Connor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Craven thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Craven drops back looking for a leg! Connor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Connor manages to kick Craven off! Craven jumps back into Connor's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because Wayne Craven wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Craven got a little sloppy there for a moment and Connor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Craven has managed to get both his arms back between Connor's legs - danger averted.
Craven is in close to Connor's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Craven wants to control from the top but Connor keeps moving.
Craven is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Connor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Craven can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Craven seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Craven might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Connor has momentary wrist control but Craven slips an elbow through the middle.
Craven lands a couple of digs.
Craven's corner is telling him to maintain position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Nice shot lands for Craven.
Craven connects with a single shot there.
Connor walks into a stiff left hand from Craven.

Craven throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Connor tumbling to the canvas!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Craven loads up on a big left hand. Connor felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Craven looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Connor can't hide his disappointment, as Craven celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wayne Craven!
Wayne Craven decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
