Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kai Gi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gancho Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gancho Santos!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gi throws a head kick that misses.

Santos gets a clinch.

Santos gets control of Gi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Santos will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Santos wants to get back to his feet but Gi is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Gi drops back looking for a leg! Santos is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Santos manages to kick Gi off! Gi jumps back into Santos's guard.

Gi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Santos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Santos is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Santos decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Santos closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gi goes for a takedown in the clinch but Santos prevents it.
Santos tries to circle away but Gi has him pinned against the cage.
Santos is trying to break free.

Gi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Santos throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Santos clinches with his opponent.
Santos misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Santos is trying to force a seperation but Gi has the dominant position.
Gi is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Gi goes for a takedown attempt but Santos pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kai Gi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Santos drives through with a takedown into Gi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Santos is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gi.
Gi is not content to let Santos control the position.

Santos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Gi is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Santos's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Santos's back!
Santos manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gi's guard. Nice work there by Santos.

Santos is sitting in close to Gi's body. Gi has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Santos is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Santos is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Gi.
