PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Clary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clary has chosen E.G.G.M.A.N. by Paul Shortino as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Clary!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clary tries to clinch

and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Clary won't be happy with that.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Clary tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Coleman wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Coleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Clary throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Coleman's waist but Coleman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Clary off to one side.
Jake Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aaron Clary.
Clary shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coleman but Coleman pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Coleman wants to advance to full mount but Clary doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Coleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Clary swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Coleman's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Coleman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Clary with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Clary wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Clary is refusing to be controlled, as Coleman sits in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Coleman dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Coleman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Clary's guard.

Coleman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Clary circles away quickly and effectively.

Coleman shoots for a double leg takedown but Clary sprawls well. He's pushed Coleman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Coleman stuffs the takedown attempt from Clary. Clary gets slowly back to his feet.
Coleman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Clary.

Clary leaves Coleman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Coleman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Clary's face.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Coleman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Clary is trying desperately to improve position.

Jake Coleman showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Coleman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
