Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Harlan Crowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barry Rig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crowe's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, The Dead Brothers - Death Blues. Rig has chosen Jag - Full Court as his entrance music. Barry Rig will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Harlan Crowe!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Barry Rig!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crowe wants to clinch up but Rig keeps it at a distance.
Rig lands with a thumping leg kick.
Rig throws a chopping leg kick but Crowe manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Rig - that will leave a mark!
Rig tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Crowe misses with a straight right.

It looks like Barry Rig has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rig scores with a push kick.
Crowe tries to clinch but Rig is having none of it.
An inside leg kick lands from Rig.
Crowe lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Harlan Crowe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rig. Crowe shrugs it off though.
Rig scoring well with a low kick there.

Crowe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Crowe scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Rig to see if he's OK.

Crowe wants to take a breather but Rig is having none of it.

Crowe is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Rig reverses the position - he's now on top in Crowe's guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Barry Rig hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rig throws a sloppy head kick and Crowe moves out of range easily.
Crowe stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rig misses with a leg kick.
Crowe takes a swing at Rig's ribcage but misses.
Rig connects with a high kick.


It looks like Harlan Crowe has been cut.

Crowe misses with a wild body shot.
Crowe misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rig.
Rig tried to score with a low kick but Crowe checks it.
Rig lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Rig throws a sloppy head kick and Crowe moves out of range easily.
Rig connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rig slips under a jab.
Crowe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Rig throws a head kick but Crowe moves out of range.
Rig finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rig keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Rig chopping away at his opponent's legs.

Rig goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Crowe pushes Rig up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rig unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Crowe misses with some punches.
Rig on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Rig is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Rig tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Crowe creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Rig using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Crowe has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Rig is trying to break the clinch but Crowe has him pressed against the cage.
Rig prevents a body shot from Crowe.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Rig throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rig is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Crowe is defending well for now.
Rig blocks a punch to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Harlan Crowe will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Crowe misses with a wild body shot.
Crowe throws a low kick but it's checked well by Rig.
Rig throws a head kick that half lands.
Crowe loads up on a big right hand but Rig slips the punch.
Rig throws a head kick that misses.

Crowe closes the distance and pushes Rig back into the cage.
Crowe lands a left hand.
Crowe throws a head punch that misses.
Crowe tries a body shot but Rig blocks it.
Rig tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Crowe avoids it.

Rig throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Crowe blocks it with crossed arms.

Crowe is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Rig can't fight it off and eventually Crowe manages to take the fight to the floor. Rig looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rig tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Rig can't keep his opponent in guard - Crowe advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Rig keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Crowe lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rig makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rig.

Crowe has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Rig looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rig is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Crowe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rig is keeping the position for now.
Crowe works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Crowe is keen to just control but Rig is a slippery customer.
Crowe content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Rig has hold of Crowe's hands but Crowe slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Crowe is trying to control the action in half guard but Rig is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Crowe not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Rig is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Crowe's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Crowe's back!
Crowe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Rig controlling well, preventing Crowe from escaping the position.
Rig is trying to stick to Crowe's back but Crowe is turning into Rig. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rig's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Crowe.

Crowe lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Crowe wants to control from the top but Rig keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rig tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Crowe working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Rig's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harlan Crowe dominated that second round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Rig scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rig lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Rig misses with a body kick.
Crowe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rig manages to avoid it.
Crowe blocks a head kick by Rig.
Rig finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Rig is looking to land body kicks.
Rig throws a push kick but Crowe slaps the foot to one side.
Rig uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crowe.
Crowe scores with a hook to the body. Rig takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Crowe tries to clinch up but Rig circles away and keeps his distance.

Crowe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Rig quickly recovers to half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rig is looking to improve his position.
Rig takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Crowe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Rig with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Crowe is trying to control. Rig wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Crowe passes to full mount!
Crowe lands a big elbow.
Crowe cracks Rig with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Harlan Crowe!

Post fight, Harlan Crowe stared into the camera and said 'That is 0 for 2, Barry. Wanna break before I beat you again?'.
