PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaco Shaco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ohtam Zemadar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jaco Shaco!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ohtam Zemadar!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zemadar shoots in looking for a takedown. Shaco tries to sprawl out of it but Zemadar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shaco manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shaco paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
A punch lands to the side of Zemadar 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Shaco throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zemadar was covering up waiting for the punch and Shaco finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Shaco shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Zemadar eats them both and turns towards Shaco to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Zemadar has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shaco off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Zemadar is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Shaco is staying active.

Shaco knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zemadar on the ground.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shaco connects with a nice short shot to Zemadar's temple.

Zemadar has one foot on Shaco's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ohtam Zemadar was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Shaco takes the fight into the clinch.

Shaco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shaco moves into range and connects with a jab.
Zemadar moves forwards but Shaco connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Shaco circles away from the clinch attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Zemadar.

Zemadar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Zemadar can do anything to dispel that myth.

Zemadar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shaco doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Shaco manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shaco is sitting in close to Zemadar's body. Zemadar has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shaco is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shaco is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Zemadar.
