Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Rayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Garza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Marcos Garza told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rayne doesn't manage to clinch there - Garza circles away.

Garza tries to bum rush Rayne with a series of wild strikes but Rayne uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Garza counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rayne.
Marcos Garza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Garza counters with a nice uppercut.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Garza crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Rayne - the referee stops the clock and Garza gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Rayne. Garza manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Rayne fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Garza manages to avoid it.

Garza shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rayne eats them both and turns towards Garza to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Garza cracks Rayne with a right hand to the side of the head.
Oh Rayne is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Garza misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rayne seems to have got his legs back now.
Rayne fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Garza throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rayne on the side of the head.

Rayne tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Garza manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Rayne closes this distance looking for a takedown but Garza circles away.

Rayne looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
