Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Colmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Trick Daddy- Let's Go. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jay Colmen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Danny Power!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Power throws a hook but Colmen blocks it.
Power throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Power fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Colmen.
A left and a right from Colmen both land. Nice combination.
Colmen stuns Power with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Power just misses with a punch to the body.
Colmen tries to clinch up but Power circles away and keeps his distance.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Power.
Colmen avoids the head kick by Power.
Colmen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Power.
Power looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Colmen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Power feints and then cracks Colmen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Colmen down.

Power lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Power wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Colmen misses the jab.
Colmen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Danny Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Power ducks under a wild hook from Colmen.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Colmen, right into the meat.
A clash of legs there as Colmen blocks the low kick.
Power stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Colmen throws a series of punches but Power avoids them all with ease.
Colmen throws a nice looking combination but Power bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Colmen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Power misses with an attempted mid kick.
Power looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Power scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Jay Colmen has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Colmen lands with a short shot to the head.
The referee calls for Colmen to work.
Power wants to break the clinch but can't.
Colmen gets through Power's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Power avoiding damage.
Colmen pushes Power back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power lands an uppercut.

Power breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Colmen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Colmen misses the jab.
Colmen thows a body shot but no joy.
Colmen avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Colmen misses with a head kick.
Power cracks Colmen with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Power tries to work over Colmen's front leg with a kick but Colmen checks it.

Power darts in and clinches Colmen up against the cage.
Power has Colmen pushed against the cage.
Power has Colmen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Colmen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Colmen tries for a takedown but Power manages to get underhooks.
Power prevents a body shot from Colmen.
Colmen scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Power misses with a hook from the clinch.

Colmen breaks from the clinch.
Colmen tries to clinch but Power moves out of range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Power crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Colmen - the referee stops the clock and Power gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Colmen. Power manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Power fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Colmen manages to avoid it.
Power is looking to chop away at Colmen's legs.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Power moves out of range as Colmen throws a body kick.
Power lands with a good body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Power dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jay Colmen's cut.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Power attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Colmen wants to clinch.
Power with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Colmen is looking to clinch.
Colmen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Power throws the left hand but Colmen avoids the punch easily.
Power looks to score with a jab to the body but Colmen is just out of range.
Power lands a nice shot that snaps Colmen's head back.
Colmen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Power connects with a body shot that sends Colmen's belly button to the back.

Power looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
No luck for Power with that takedown attempt.

Power tries to keep at a distance but Colmen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Power prevents Colmen from breaking the clinch.
Power taking a breather.
A nice right hand lands inside from Power.
Colmen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Power's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Good work by Colmen as he checks the leg kick.
Power misses with a body kick.

Colmen chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Power can pounce on him.
Power tries to clinch there but Colmen circles away.
Colmen has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Power.
A left lands for Colmen.
Colmen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Power circles away quickly and effectively.
Colmen throws a shot from downtown. Power moves away and avoids it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Colmen takes a swing at Power's ribcage but misses.
Good leg kick by Power there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Colmen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Power is out of range and Colmen settles back down.
Colmen throws a left and a right that both miss

and Power counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Power tries to pass to full mount but Colmen defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Power wants to control but Colmen is keeping him busy.
Power frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Colmen is working to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Colmen sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Power seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Colmen wants to get back to full guard.
Power missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Power wants to lay and pray for a moment but Colmen keeps working.
Power moves nicely into side control.
Colmen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Power wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Danny Power showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Colmen looks to land a body kick but Power moved away.
Colmen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Power connects with a crisp jab.
Colmen throws a front kick aimed at Power's knee but Power avoids it well.

Power gets a double leg takedown into Colmen's guard.
Colmen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Power is one step ahead there.
Colmen keeping moving, preventing Power from controlling successfully.
Power must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Power stands and throws Colmen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Colmen is trying to control Power's posture but Power avoids it.
Colmen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Colmen is working hard here to advance position.
Colmen gets back to half guard.
Power is trying to control the action in half guard but Colmen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Colmen tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Power easily slips into full mount!

Colmen is desperately trying to improve his position but Power has a good base and remains in mount.
Power scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Power lands a big shot there that rocks Colmen but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Colmen tries to lock up and control but Power gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Colmen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Colmen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Power breaks from Colmen's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Power fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Colmen is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Power trying to control but Colmen is having none of it.
Power controlling the position easily from mount.
Colmen wants to hold on but Power pushes him away.
Colmen is squirming around, avoiding Power's attempts to control the action.
