Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Cack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddell has chosen DMX as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Charlie Liddell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Cack!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Charlie Liddell!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cack fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cack tries for a takedown but Liddell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Cack shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Cack. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Cack looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Cack stopping the sweep attempt from Liddell.
Liddell trying to keep a closed guard but Cack is proving a slippery customer.
Liddell wants to stand up but Cack is controlling him.
Liddell tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Cack advances position into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ground and pound from Cack seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Liddell tries to improve position but can't.
Liddell regains half guard.

Cack is looking for a kimura here.
Cack is pressing down on Liddell's thigh, looking to free his foot. Liddell is holding on for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Liddell wants to improve his position but Cack is controlling well.
Liddell is looking to control Cack's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Liddell avoid being mounted?
Cack lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Liddell wants to improve his position but Cack is controlling well.
Cack thows a huge punch but Liddell dodges it nicely.

Liddell avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cack.

Liddell is defending against the submission attempts here by Cack.
Cack is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cack lands strikes from half guard.
Liddell is trying to get back to full guard.
Cack stops Liddell from getting back to his feet.
Cack has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cack looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddell is fending him off so far but Cack persists. Nope, Liddell circles away and we're back to standing.
Liddell lands a big shot that drops Cack! Can he finish him?


Cack is rocked!


It looks like Daniel Cack has been cut.
Liddell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Liddell wants to control from the top but Cack keeps moving.
Oh Cack is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Liddell preventing the sweep.
Cack seems to have got his legs back now.
Liddell controls from within his opponent's guard.

Cack working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Liddell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Liddell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charlie Liddell dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Daniel Cack's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cack drops his hands momentarily. Liddell doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Cack staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Cack doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Charlie Liddell!
Charlie Liddell is the new light heavyweight champion!
