Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ashley Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mario Byrd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Byrd has chosen "99 Problems" by Jay-Z as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byrd tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fight stays on the outside here - Byrd looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Mario Byrd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Byrd tries to work over Morrison's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Byrd tries to throw a body punch but Morrison avoids it by throwing Byrd back against the cage.

Morrison ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Morrison no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Morrison keeping moving, preventing Byrd from controlling successfully.
Morrison has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Byrd is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Morrison.

Morrison is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Byrd pulls his head out easily.
Morrison won't allow Byrd to pass to mount.
Morrison has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Byrd. Oh but Morrison has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Byrd goes limp - he's gone! Morrison jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
