The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OConnell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sword.

Sword feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sword is looking to work some ground and pound but OConnell has wrist control.
OConnell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Sword connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OConnell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sword is one step ahead there.
Sword content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
OConnell seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Sword trying to control the position from guard on top but OConnell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
OConnell pulls Sword in to control the position.

Sword with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sword postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

OConnell takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

It looks like Seamus OConnell has been cut.
Sword wants to control but OConnell is keeping him busy.
OConnell takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

That has opened up Seamus OConnell's cut even more.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Seamus OConnell's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

After the fight, Kjell Sword was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
