Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Ellis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Rector (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andre Rector!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis looks to clinch

and Rector counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Rector controlling the action here.
Ellis tries to roll over but Rector keeps him under control.
Rector not doing much here.
Rector's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Andre Rector hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Rector has closed the distance and engaged Ellis in a clinch.

Rector breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ellis gets tackled into the cage by Rector. Rector maintains the clinch.

Rector has hold of one of Ellis's legs. Ellis is fighting the takedown attempt but Rector gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ellis is on top in guard.
Ellis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rector swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ellis won't allow Rector to sweep him here.

Rector uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Rector drives through and clinches with Ellis against the cage.

Ellis drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rector gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rector tries for a takedown. No joy.

Ellis jumps guard and drags Rector to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ellis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Rector controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Ellis is looking for a triangle here but Rector uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rector is staying tight to Ellis's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Rector just content to control the position.
Ellis is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rector missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Rector really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ellis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rector in particular looking to stall.
Ellis is looking to improve his position.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Rector shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ellis but Ellis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ellis swats away the attempt to clinch by Rector.
Rector avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rector takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ellis throws an overhand right that lands on Rector's shoulder, as Rector tries to avoid the shot.
Ellis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Rector counters with a nice leg kick.

Ellis takes a head kick and keeps coming.

and Rector cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Rector closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ellis's guard.

Ellis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rector defends well.

Rector tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ellis swivels and escapes.

and Rector counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ellis won't be happy with that.

Ellis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rector wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Rector throws a strike aimed at the side of Ellis's head but Ellis avoids it well.

Rector tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Andre Rector.
Rector lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Ellis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Rector showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

and Rector counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ellis's guard now.

Ellis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rector can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ellis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rector is pushing down on Ellis's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ellis is fighting to maintain full guard but Rector has managed to sneak the leg through.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rector in particular looking to stall.
Ellis is trying to maintain the position but Rector is very close to passing his half guard.
Rector content to control rather than advance.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Andre Rector comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rector has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
