Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wiktor Berezutsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Bowens!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berezutsky has managed to clinch.
Bowens is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Berezutsky is defending well.

Berezutsky jumps guard and drags Bowens to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Bowens wants to control from the top but Berezutsky keeps moving.
Bowens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Berezutsky swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bowens stops Berezutsky from standing up.
Bowens wants to pass the guard but Berezutsky is keeping the position.
Bowens advances to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bowens stops Berezutsky from getting back to his feet.
Bowens looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Berezutsky looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bowens slows the pace down in half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Berezutsky is looking to clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bowens.
Bowens shoots in but Berezutsky avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wiktor Berezutsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Bowens.

Bowens shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bowens is trying to take his opponent's back.
Bowens scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Berezutsky?
Berezutsky is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bowens trying to control but Berezutsky is having none of it.

Bowens is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Berezutsky is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Berezutsky flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Bowens anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Berezutsky and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Bowens slips an arm under Berezutsky chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Bowens has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Bowens is squeezing on Berezutsky like an anaconda would it's prey. Berezutsky fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). James Bowens!
