Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Renton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Markakis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renton comes to the cage accompanied by A Small Victory. Dennis Markakis is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Renton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dennis Markakis!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Markakis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Renton paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Renton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Markakis tries to avoid it but Renton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Markakis to the ground. Markakis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Markakis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Renton counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Renton misses with a wild combination.

Markakis gets caught flat footed, as Renton shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Markakis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Renton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Markakis prevents Renton from moving into mount.
Renton working the head and body with strikes.
Markakis manages to work his way to half guard, despite Renton's best efforts.
Well, if Renton is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are battling for position here. Markakis manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Renton trying to control the position from guard on top but Markakis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Renton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Markakis looking for a guillotine here but Renton defends easily.
Renton working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Markakis's head.
Markakis wants to hit a switch here but Renton passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Markakis there!

Renton swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Markakis is now in Renton's guard. A big mistake from Renton there, giving up the dominant position!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Markakis postures up.
Markakis stands up over Renton, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Markakis landing some decent shots from guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Renton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Renton lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
Renton trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Renton is controlling Markakis's posture.
Markakis trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Renton is striking from the bottom but Markakis uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Markakis tries to stand and escape but Renton is controlling the position.
Markakis looks gassed!

Renton is pressing down on Markakis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Renton looking for a sweep. Not yet Renton, not yet.

Renton working for a triangle but Markakis defends it easily.

Renton looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Markakis is defending well. Renton quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Markakis has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Renton celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
