Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Karkmananis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karkmananis misses with a body shot.

Dog swings for the body but Karkmananis moves out of range.

Karkmananis slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Dog is still in real trouble! Can Karkmananis finish him?
Karkmananis throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dog works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Karkmananis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dog seems to have recovered his senses.
Karkmananis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dog swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Karkmananis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Dog misses with an uppercut
and Karkmananis counters with a good, hard body kick but Dog shrugs it off.
Dog tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Karkmananis was well out of range. Poor timing from Dog.

Karkmananis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dog defends it easily.
Karkmananis seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Dog really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karkmananis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Dog's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Karkmananis lands a left and a right that sends Dog crashing to the canvas! Karkmananis dives into mount looking to finish!


That has opened up Jay Dog's cut even more.

Karkmananis stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Karkmananis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dog tries to avoid it but Karkmananis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dog to the ground. Dog escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Karkmananis.

Dog throws a lazy right hand but Karkmananis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Dog might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
