Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kris Vecetti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tomoya Okazaki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Okazaki.

Okazaki shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Okazaki stops Vecetti from getting back to his feet.
Okazaki is thwarting Vecetti's attempts to control the position.
Okazaki has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Vecetti works to full guard.
Vecetti is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Vecetti with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Okazaki fails with a takedown attempt.

Okazaki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vecetti accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Okazaki utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vecetti wants to control from the top but Okazaki keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kris Vecetti wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Okazaki avoids a kick to the body.

Okazaki gets caught flat footed, as Vecetti shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vecetti has gone for a leg lock! Okazaki slips out almost immediately though and dives into Vecetti's guard.
Vecetti pulls Okazaki in close to prevent any damage.

Vecetti looking for subs off his back but Okazaki has passed one foot through into half guard.
Vecetti trying to hold on to Okazaki's head to control him but Okazaki postures up.
Okazaki seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vecetti does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Vecetti is looking for a sweep. Okazaki is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vecetti manages to escape and get back to his feet!

and Vecetti counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Okazaki!
Kris Vecetti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tomoya Okazaki.
BOOM! Vecetti connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Vecetti lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vecetti controlling the pace for now.
Vecetti lands a big shot there that rocks Okazaki but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Vecetti connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Okazaki is still in real trouble! Can Vecetti finish him?
Vecetti postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Okazaki badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Vecetti around the waist but Vecetti pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Vecetti is the winner by TKO! Vecetti jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kris Vecetti!
