Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Walter Kurtz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shavo Odin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shavo Odin has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Walter Kurtz's chin.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shavo Odin!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Odin tries a head kick but it misses.
Odin takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Kurtz is looking to clinch but Odin is avoiding it.
Kurtz is looking to slow Odin down with leg kicks.
Odin looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kurtz tries to clinch there but Odin circles away.
Good work by Odin as he checks the leg kick.
Odin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Odin shoots in and gets a takedown into Kurtz's guard.
Odin postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kurtz wants to sweep but no luck.
Odin trying to control but Kurtz is working from the bottom.
Kurtz is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Odin trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurtz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Odin won't allow Kurtz to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kurtz stuffs the takedown attempt from Odin. Odin gets slowly back to his feet.
Odin slips a straight right by Kurtz.
Kurtz buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Odin takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Shavo Odin has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kurtz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Odin's head backwards.
Odin misses with a lunging right hand
and Kurtz counters with a huge left! Odin is in big trouble! He's backing up but Kurtz isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Odin from any more damage. A dominating finish by Kurtz!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Walter Kurtz!
Walter Kurtz took some time post fight to say the following; ' I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream; that's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight razor... and surviving. '.
