Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ari Birmiski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Birmiski has chosen I'm Back - T.I as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Jonathan Hawkins has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jonathan Hawkins seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jonathan Hawkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ari Birmiski!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Birmiski scores with a sloppy right hand. Hawkins should have avoided that one.
Hawkins misses with a looping left.
Hawkins shoots in looking for a takedown. Birmiski tries to sprawl out of it but Hawkins keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Birmiski manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hawkins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hawkins showed some decent athleticism there.
Hawkins working over Birmiski with some ground and pound. Birmiski looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Birmiski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hawkins is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Birmiski.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Birmiski is trying to control Hawkins's posture but Hawkins avoids it.
Hawkins throws an elbow but Birmiski slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hawkins looks up at the clock and then as Birmiski takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hawkins smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hawkins tries to move to mount but Birmiski blocks the move with his legs.
Hawkins throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Birmiski works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Birmiski is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hawkins's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hawkins's back!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
You can see the frustration on Hawkins's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Hawkins tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hawkins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hawkins looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Birmiski puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
