Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lyon Okiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinicius Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramos has chosen The Killers - Somebody Told Me as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okiro uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ramos.

Ramos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Okiro sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ramos somewhat.

Okiro bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Okiro digs a good body shot into Ramos's ribs.
Ramos tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Okiro swivels and escapes.
Ramos swats away the attempt to clinch by Okiro.
Ramos sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Okiro lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Okiro lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ramos backwards.

Still in the clinch, Okiro scores with a nice short uppercut.

Okiro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ramos moves out of range as Okiro throws a body kick.
Okiro takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Ramos with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Okiro to score with a decent uppercut.
Okiro is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Ramos takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

and Okiro counters with a thumping low kick.

Okiro closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ramos shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Okiro as he jumps to the side.

Okiro is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Okiro wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Okiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ramos is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Okiro punishes Ramos's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ramos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ramos has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Okiro.
Okiro cracks a nice hook into Ramos's ribs.

Okiro is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Ramos closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Okiro quickly recovers to half guard.

Ramos tries to pass the half guard into mount. Okiro knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Ramos winds up and cracks Okiro with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Ramos is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Okiro defends it well.

Ramos is trying to control. Okiro wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ramos accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Ramos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Okiro dives on top into guard.

Okiro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ramos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Okiro has managed to get both his arms back between Ramos's legs - danger averted.
