Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mick Spanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bayden Wood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spanner comes to the cage accompanied by Seven Drunken Nights - The Dubliners. Wood has chosen kick my ass......rehab as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mick Spanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bayden Wood!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spanner throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wood counters with a left and a right that stings Spanner.
Wood misses with a few strikes there.
Wood goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Spanner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spanner wants to clinch but Wood slips to the side
and Wood counters with an inside leg kick.
Spanner tries to clinch but Wood moves away
and Wood counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Wood throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Spanner on the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spanner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Spanner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Wood manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Spanner tries to clinch there but Wood circles away.
Wood scores with a nice strike.
Spanner with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Wood to score with a decent uppercut.
Wood throws a nice looking combination but Spanner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Spanner misses with a double jab.
Wood keeps the fight on the outside.
Spanner shoots for a double leg takedown but Wood sprawls well. He's pushed Spanner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Spanner tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Wood counters with a stiff right hand.
Wood looks to land a combination but Spanner avoids it well.
A combination from Wood does no damage.

Spanner tries to clinch up but Wood circles away and keeps his distance.
Spanner misses with a wild combination.
Wood throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Spanner on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Spanner fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wood connects with the punch.
Spanner showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wood.
Wood pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Spanner back to the cage. Wood follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Spanner stalks Wood and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Wood's face. Wood staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jab, jab by Wood - just one landing.
Wood fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Wood listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Spanner wants to clinch up but Wood keeps it at a distance.
Wood throws a nice looking combination but Spanner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wood tries to bum rush Spanner with a series of wild strikes but Spanner uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Spanner misses with a left hand
and Wood counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Wood misses with a hook.
Wood is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Spanner had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Spanner ducks under a wild hook from Wood.
Some wild striking there from Spanner.

Spanner takes the fight into the clinch.
Wood is trying to break the clinch but Spanner is controlling him.
Wood goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Spanner lands a right hand.
Spanner misses with an elbow over the top.
Spanner misses with an elbow strike.
Spanner tries to throw a body punch but Wood avoids it by throwing Spanner back against the cage.
Spanner pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Wood blocks an elbow strike.
Wood tries to circle away but Spanner has him pinned against the cage.
Spanner lands with a short punch from the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Wood.
Wood struggles to land a body shot inside as Spanner controls his hands.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wood avoids the elbow strike from Spanner, against the cage.
Spanner lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Wood on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Spanner pushes off an throws an elbow but Wood leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Wood blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Wood is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Spanner throws an elbow but misses.
Nice elbow from Spanner.
Spanner is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wood gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Wood avoiding damage as Spanner throws knees to the body.
Wood is pushing Spanner up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Spanner lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Wood backwards.
A left hand lands to the body for Wood.
Spanner lands an elbow just above Wood 's eye.
Wood can't find room to land a body shot as Spanner controls the action.
Wood is looking for a takedown.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wood is trying to break the clinch but Spanner has him pressed against the cage.

Wood breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wood changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Spanner drops his hands momentarily and Wood takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Spanner rushes Wood and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Spanner tries to pull guard but Wood holds him up against the cage and eventually Spanner drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mick Spanner. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spanner tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Wood avoids it.
Wood tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Spanner's elbow.
Spanner has Wood pressed against the cage, preventing Wood from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Spanner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Spanner tries to clinch up.
Wood lands a jab.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Wood throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Spanner wants to clinch.
Wood checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bayden Wood will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Spanner tries to clinch but Wood moves out of range.
Spanner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wood moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wood scores with a three punch combo!
Spanner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bayden Wood seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Spanner pushes Wood up against the cage in a clinch.
Spanner tries a knee to the head but Wood blocks it.

Wood breaks the clinch.
Wood lands with an overhand left.


Spanner is rocked!
Wood misses with a double jab.
Oh Spanner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wood throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wood lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Spanner - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Wood!
