The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golov lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cassano connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
A shot to the body from Cassano misses
and Golov counters with a head kick.
Golov throws a series of punches but Cassano avoids them all with ease.
Cassano steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Golov. That one must have hurt.
Cassano lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cassano looks to land a combination but Golov avoids it well.
Golov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cassanos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Gianpaolo Cassano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Golov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cassano throws a hook but Golov avoids it easily.
Cassano takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Golov fails with the takedown.

and Golov counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Golov takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Golov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cassano throws out the jab.
Cassano lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Golov backs up against the cage.

Golov is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Cassano has cracked Golov with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Cassano lands another huge swinging hook and Golov tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Golov, before Cassano can land any more shots!
