The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aurelio as he jumps to the side.

Patterson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Aurelio.

Aurelio's corner calls for a 1-2. Aurelio obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Patterson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Patterson lands a nice short elbow.
Aurelio is trying to control but can't.
Patterson moves into full mount! Aurelio won't be happy about that!

Patterson wants to finish this one by submission but Aurelio is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Patterson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aurelio wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Patterson.
Patterson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
