Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Mathers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cruz Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathers's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Anthem of Kings. Jefferson is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Damian Marley - Welcome to Jamrock. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshall Mathers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cruz Jefferson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jefferson scores with a kick to the body.
Jefferson wants to clinch up but Mathers keeps it at a distance.
Mathers fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jefferson manages to avoid it.
Cruz Jefferson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jefferson looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Jefferson tries to clinch there but Mathers circles away.
Danga de danga de dang - Jefferson scores with a four punch combination!
Jefferson throws a leg kick but Mathers sees it coming and moves out of range.
Mathers throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jefferson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Mathers paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mathers comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mathers misses with a looping right.

Jefferson closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jefferson lands an elbow that stopped Mathers in his tracks for a moment.


It looks like Marshall Mathers has been cut.

Mathers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jefferson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Mathers.
Jefferson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Jefferson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Mathers's calf.
Jefferson tries to work over Mathers's front leg with a kick but Mathers checks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jefferson scores with a push kick.
Jefferson checks the leg kick nicely there.
Mathers looks to land a combination. Jefferson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Mathers moves out of range of the body kick.
Jefferson checks the leg kick.

Mathers gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Jefferson to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mathers keeping moving, preventing Jefferson from controlling successfully.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jefferson slips nicely into half guard.
Mathers on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Mathers tries to get out of the position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jefferson controlling the action here.
Ground and pound from Jefferson.
Jefferson is looking to advance position but Mathers won't allow it.
Jefferson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Mathers!

Jefferson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Jefferson is working for a guillotine from mount but Mathers frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Jefferson quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Jefferson but it's paid off an Mathers is forced to tap! Nice work by Jefferson.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Cruz Jefferson!
A relieved looking Cruz Jefferson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
