The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Johnson throws a wild body kick that Matthew sees coming a mile off.
Matthew ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Matthew looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Matthew takes a swing at Johnson's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Matthew. Johnson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johnson throws a jab when Matthew was well out of range.
Johnson connects with an inside leg kick.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Matthew's front leg but catches the back leg as Matthew tries to avoid it.
Matthew circles away from the clinch attempt
and Matthew counters with a low kick, right behind Johnson 's knee.
Matthew thuds his right hand into Johnson's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Matthew takes a swing at Johnson's ribcage but misses.
Good work by Johnson as he checks the leg kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matthew takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Matthew takes a jab right on the kisser.
A solid leg kick lands there for Matthew.

Johnson gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Johnson utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Matthew blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Johnson throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Johnson stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Matthew looks winded!
Matthew trying to stall but Johnson improves his position.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Kishion Matthew.
Matthew tries a head kick but it misses.
Matthew misses with a low kick.
Matthew shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Matthew lands a nice leg kick that just misses Johnson's sensitive parts.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Johnson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Matthew. That did some damage!
Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
A slapping leg kick lands for Johnson.
Johnson connects with a jab.

Johnson scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Matthew to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.

It looks like Kishion Matthew has been cut.
Johnson closes the distance and catches Matthew with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Matthew is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Matthew is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Matthew is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Johnson takes it!
